What is a Shadow Resolution?
Millions of people set resolutions and self-improvement goals as part of their personal development practice, even though the vast majority of us fail at them again and again.
The truth is that traditional methods of personal and spiritual development are built around the idea that our real self, our true self, our authentic self is something we have to grow into and achieve. But it isn’t. Our authentic self is the self we are right now, shadow aspects included.
And the reason we fail at our resolutions is that they target aspects of our authentic selves which can’t just be willpowered away.
A shadow resolution, on the other hand, asks us to lean into and change our relationship to those aspects we’ve never been able to change through sheer force of will.
And once we integrate those aspects, we can evolve without them holding us back.
